Koi Pond

Inspired by Breathe Magazine’s serene and whimsical illustrated covers, I decided to create my own cover to fit in with theirs! I am very drawn to nature and water specifically, so naturally I created a koi pond. To make it more interesting, I opted to play with scale and texture, making the koi into whale sized creatures beneath a little boat. I believe I found a happy medium between the organic forms and fluid movements of the fish and the clean graphic shapes utilized throughout the image. Overall, I absolutely love this illustration and it quickly has become one of my all time favorites.
