Dagon

When I first went into creating this book, I was unsure of what direction to take, so I combined the ideas I was most drawn to at the time: classic literature and children’s stories. The premise of this story is that it is H.P. Lovecraft’s Dagon with a twist. I maintained the dark and mysterious themes of the original story but once Lovecraft’s writing ends, my writing enters with my own story. I chose this story because the descriptions of the creature were relatively vague which allowed me to have more creative freedom. Turning Dagon into a friendly, silly character was a bit of a challenge, but I loved the outcome because the change brought a new life and humor to the story.

While this is just a book dummy at the moment, I would love to one day fully complete this book and one day have it published so that more people can love Dagon as much as I have come to love him.
