UO Project Part 1

After initial interviews, applicants for the URBN Internship were tasked with creating 2-3 images for their respective departments. I had applied for the Home & Print team so when making my illustrations, I was thinking about what would look good as various products. I looked through many of Urban Outfitter’s products and became inspired by mod styles and lava lamps. I was inspired by midcentury textiles and the shapes within lava lamps. I focused on creating those separated organic shapes and then adding little patterns and designs within them to add interest. After going through different color combinations, I decided that I wanted this one to be warm tones and a dark background to create high contrast.
